Functionguidance Roofing does not have roofers on staff. When you reach out, you are connected with an independent roofing provider in our network. That provider is a separate local business. It runs its own crews, sets its own prices and does its own work.

What Happens on the Call

Expect a friendly, practical chat. The provider will usually ask:

• What you see on or under the roof
• How old the roof is
• Whether water is getting inside
• What your home looks like and where it is

Then the provider may suggest a visit to look at the roof up close. Request a callback to check provider availability, since timing varies from one business to the next.

What to Ask a Provider

A few good questions make the process smoother:

• Are you licensed and insured in this state?
• Will you give me a written estimate that lists materials and labor?
• What brand and type of shingles or other material do you suggest?
• How do you protect the yard, gutters and landscaping?
• What does the warranty cover, and who backs it?
• What care does the new roof need in the years ahead?

Write the answers down. If two providers give very different numbers, ask why.

You Are in Control

Talking to a provider does not mean you must hire one. You can compare estimates, take your time and say no. Costs vary by job, so always get a written quote before work begins. If a storm is involved, a provider can often help document damage, and you should check your own policy about coverage.

Think Past the Install

A good provider also talks about what comes after. Ask how often to check the roof, how to keep gutters clear, and which signs to watch for after heavy storms or deep frost. Spot it early and the new roof lasts longer.
